Forgiveness. 

What is forgiveness?

Google says:

The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven.

The similar words were: Pardon, absolution, clemency, mercy, pity and tolerance. 

Yet, what is forgiveness?

I say I forgive them, but have I truly?

Is forgiveness, saying that you forgave them, but still the memories of the hurt haunts you? And you can't help but keep thinking about it, over and over and over, in a relentless, merciless cycle?

Is it?

I want to forgive and move on, and not care. 

But I can't seem to understand the feeling of having forgiven someone or forgiving people. 

Have I forgiven them?

It hurts me sometimes, and I can't help but truly think, ''Is that what they think of me? Do they truly mean that?''
